"Slingbox" does? I hear about it all the time, like how amazing it is. I see it in Best Buy; but I could never figure out what's so special about it.

slingbox hooks up to your home cable TV or satellite connection, and re-broadcasts it over your high speed internet connection to you wherever you are (with a computer). you can control the channel box from the computer you are watching it on over the internet, or home network.

That is the correct answer, but in addition, there is no subscription fee for the service. Your one time purchase allows you to view your tv (dvd, satellite, vcr, etc) any where in the world. It is extremely useful for our troops overseas to be able to "tune in" to their local channels whenever they want.
