Currently I pay about $130/$140 /month for tv/internet

$20 extra for xtreme-I which i don't notice any difference.... i get about 2-3MB down.... i should be getting about 10MB...

Im thinking of switching to lightspeed... anyone have this?

As far as internet goes...don't be misled by the 'hypothetical' upload/download speeds....there are too many factors involved that slow down the process, like server speed and traffic. I would invest more money in my machine than in the service. I have standard ADSL with Telus and it's just fine...

Shaw LiteSpeed totally sucks don't even bother trying, feels like you're on dialup again. I too have extreme but only pay an addition $10 for it in Calgary - I too have noticed little difference, however my dropped calls with Vonage have decreased somewhat and playing Guild Wars is now tolerable; no noticeable changes in watching YouTube or other such services. As for Telus, well... I think I chosen the best of two evils.

they say $39.95/month gets you local phone service (voip) and highspeed..

I hear the voip / tech support is not the greatest, but if you ask for just high speed its 24.95/month 5-6mb. They are a shaw reseller so the service i should imagine would be the same...

I think I will try them out.. anyone use them before?
