streaming PC to Xbox360

I am have a problems getting my xbox to recognize my PC. I am running xp sp2 with Windows Media connect.

Anyone know what i am doing wrong?

More info, please.....are you using a router? How do you have them connected...the more info, the more intelligent the answer to solve your problem.

Yes, im using a router, they are on the same network...

i have no idea what other info i can give you?

OK.....are they the only 2 devices on the router? Have you set your sharing options on your PC?

Hey costas,

Yes, there is my PC and the Xbox360 no other devices. I don't have the actual sharing enabled as it is not needed, i have sharing enabled via Windows Media connect as per the documentation on xbox.com/pcsetup. Do you have one as well? are you able to see the other pc's?

Your windows firewall will require you set the exception, regardless of any other settings. I needed to do that with my Roku Soundbridge unit, which also streams...

Yea, its weird i have no idea whats up.... i am not running any sort of firewall, virus scanner/proxy etc

I think i will install vista and give it a try since its supported natively.

Just to follow up here.... I have now installed Vista and the sharing works without any problems...
