Rogers Portable Internet

Has anyone tried Rogers new portable internet service?

I heard you can move the modem from place to place? Does it work over cellular?

Hey I saw an ad for that. Looks pretty nice. You can move it from your home to office or anywhere.

But it has max 1.5MB down and 256KB up i believe. They provide home phone and internet access for 49bux or something... pretty good deal.. i think i may try it..

I currently have shaw cable high speed which is supposedly like 8mb down or something but i'm lucky if i get 1mb down.

You must be within a Rogers Portable Internet coverage area to receive a signal from the Rogers network. Why might I not be able to receive the service?

2. Certain types of structures and building materials can prevent signals from penetrating to the interior. Windows help to allow the signal into a room.

What if my computer is set up in one room but the wireless signal is stronger in another?

I had Protable internet with Rogers but they can not support VoIP.
If you have VoIP currently, forget about that service. and also I have to tell you that Rogers customer service is worst than you can imagine.

Thats sad to hear. My choices are either Shaw or Telus..... and i'm sick of both of them.

See, i thought I would be able to keep the modem in my laptop bag and have access to the internet anywhere, is this possible?
