Do I need to subscribe to rogers cable if I buy a Digital Cable Box from

Rogers? I just want to get the very basic free channels , if I buy the Rogers DCT1840 Digital Cable Box, do I need to pay for another subscribtion

ok but i donot want the HD signal only that basic regular channels ! do still need a subcription

Yes you do, otherwise you would not have the HD signal to put through your box. When it's hooked up, they need to phone Toronto and zap it to activate it. I know, because I have it.
