Is there a dvr/pvr that doesnt require monthly fees? Im looking for one to hook to a Coolsat 6000!

Are there even any FTA boxes that support HD yet?

So, the fta box has to support HD in order to hook up dvr? Cant just record programs?

No it doesn't need to support HD..

Not sure if there is any coolsat dvr's yet.. i think dreambox supports DVR

usually monthly fees are associated with tivo's or pretty much anything that is supplied by your cable / sat provider.

I dont think you understand. I dont want an all in one fta box. I am wondering if there is a dvr/pvr( brand name) that i can buy, that will hook to a coolsat 6000. Something outside TIVo with its monthly fees for it guide. Is there a drv? Just a dvr/pvr that is seperate from my coolsat.

Any DVR will hook up to ANY receiver....it's just like hooking up a VCR.

It might sounds stupid but what is the difference between a dvp & a pvr? Sorry for jumping in uninvited.
