I have a number of Divx / Xvid movies on my hard drive. I can play them on my computer fine, but what if i want to watch them on my big screen? Would it look good? How about the resolution/sound? How would i get the signal to my tv?

Do you own a Microsoft Xbox? If not you can pick one up pretty cheap.... you can pretty much do everything you mentioned about.... and more =)
