Hello ,just signed on tonight and already looking for help,If I have posted in wrong forum,I apologise

When re-arranging Viewsat Plat -TV-Cable box hook up I inadvertently connected cable to TV to IF OUT port on VS Plat,which started to smoke.I disconnected after a few seconds and reconnected to TV OUT port on VS and has been working without any signs of problems and no over heating.

Are IF components of VS STB associated with video section,would overheating of IF section eventually kill STB?.

Any Views or thoughts would be appreciated.
